JavaScript is the first and the best choice for developing web applications for TV Platform. It is popular, safe, maintanable and allows rapid development. But sometimes you can find your needs go beyond what JavaScript offers. You can have needs for bringing native to the web, for example when it comes to multimedia processing. Are you writing a VOD-IPTV client which requires unsupported streaming protocol or DRM? JavaScript may be too slow for it. Or maybe you would like to reuse your proprietary native code in your Web application? Native Client (NaCl) comes to solve your problems. During this talk we will show motivations behind going with native code to TV web applications and an implementation of rich VOD-IPTV solution with NaCl technology including NaCl Player.
