Description
Tizen has been significantly restructured to support various devices without the need for new build projects and infrastructure for each device type. The build environment of Tizen has been unified and the structure of and the relation between Tizen packages has been refactored significantly. In order to utilize such new characteristics of Tizen 4.0, we are providing an application to configure Tizen and create OS images according to the user configuration on-the-fly without the need for rebuilding packages. As a result, vendors can now configure and prototype an OS for their devices with Tizen without the need for setting up their own build infrastructure or creating yet another profile, diverging their source codes or binaries and requiring deep unsderstandings in Tizen itself. There is a great side-effect as well; the workload and average latency of build tasks of Tizen has been significatly reduced roughly by 80%, allowing faster iterations of development. In this talk, we introduce how such goals are achieved and how vendors and enthusiasts can utilize the new build infrastructure of Tizen 4.0. Target Audiences: platform developers, hardware vendor (that wants to load Tizen on their devices), and enthusiasts.
